Academy of Sciences for the Developing World: TWAS Prizes 2013
Deadline:
28 Feb 2013 Each year, the Academy of Sciences for the Developing World (TWAS) awards prizes of US$15 thousand to individual scientists in each of eight fields: agricultural sciences; biology; chemistry; earth sciences; engineering sciences; mathematics; medical sciences; and physics.
The basis of the awards are as follows:
- Scientific research achievement of outstanding significance for the development of scientific thought;
- Outstanding contribution to the application of science and technology to industry or to human well-being in a developing country.
Candidates for TWAS Prizes must be working and living in developing countries for at least 10 years prior to their nomination.
TWAS posts a nomination form, all supporting information, and a contact point. Self-nominations will not be considered. The nomination deadline is 28 February 2013.
