Applications from suitably qualified candidates are invited for the postdoctoral fellowships housed in the Afromontane Research Unit. The theme under which the research projects are pursued is sustainable futures for the people of the Afromontane. Successful candidates will be based at the Qwaqwa Campus of the University of the Free State. The fellowship is potentially available for a period of two years. Continued funding beyond the first year is dependent on the submission of an annual progress report. The successful applicant (s) will be required to publish at least 3 articles per year in DHET / IBSS / ISI – accredited journals. The applicant(s) must have the requisite background and capacity to undertake multidisciplinary research that seeks to make a contribution to mitigating the impact of vulnerabilities in rural and mountainous areas. A relevant academic qualification as well as background in any of the three focus areas is desirable.
