Como parte de sus esfuerzos para fortalecer el trabajo en la región, YPARD acaba de integrar un nuevo grupo de profesionales en distintas áreas, con el objetivo de que estos aporten desde sus conocimientos y experiencias, para la transformación de los sistemas alimentarios. Los nuevos integrantes del equipo pertenecen a Perú, Colombia, Nicaragua y Brasil.

Sebastián Pedraza, Representante de YPARD para LAC, destaca la importancia de integrar a estos profesionales al equipo de trabajo. "Hemos identificado muchas oportunidades en la región, contar con el esfuerzo de este nuevo equipo de personas talentosas nos va a permitir llegar a más personas y trabajar de forma más eficiente hacia nuestra visión de una juventud rural potenciada", dijo.

Los nuevos miembros del equipo LAC: 

Edwin Prado, Brasil

Coordinador de Alianzas

Ingeniero Agrónomo por la Universidad Federal de Sergipe, actualmente cursando MBA en Agronegocios en la ESALQ/USP y con experiencia en el área de gestión de proyectos, actuando como Gestor de Proyectos en el Instituto Interamericano de Cooperación para la Agricultura - IICA, compartiendo y construyendo conocimiento con un enfoque en la promoción del desarrollo rural. Está interesado en temas relacionados con la gestión del riesgo en la agricultura, juventud rural, innovación, sostenibilidad en los sistemas productivos, cambio climático, cooperación agrícola, política y economía agrícola, emprendimiento y desarrollo rural.

"Espero contribuir, en conjunto con los demás integrantes del equipo YPARD-LAC, con la propuesta de un plan estratégico de integración que involucre a todas sus representaciones nacionales y que incluya actores multilaterales de acción local, nacional y regional. Una red diversificada y activa a todos los niveles es fundamental para 'no dejar a nadie atrás' en la construcción de comunidades rurales y sistemas agroalimentarios más prósperos".

Edwin Prado

Economista de la Universidad de Antioquia, especialista en Gerencia de entidades de desarrollo social de la Universidad EAFIT. Con intereses en trabajo con población en situación vulnerable, gestión de proyectos relacionados con fortalecimiento de los sistemas locales agroalimentarios, la apropiación y divulgación social del conocimiento, equidad de género y estudios de compensación socioeconómica 

Claudia Rendón, Colombia

 "Me entusiasma este puesto, en el sentido que me permitirá compartir experiencias, conocer otros jóvenes con diferentes visiones desde la posición que cada uno habita, al igual, me interesa aportar desde el respeto, sobre el conocimiento del sector agropecuario colombiano, especialmente, en los procesos que se vienen desarrollando en el Putumayo y su grandiosa ubicación geográfica que combina los paisajes paisajes andinos y amazónicos, donde se pueden explorar posibilidades económicas a través de la identificación de las ventajas sobre el abastecimiento y la producción de diversos sistemas alimentarios".

Claudia Rendón

Juan David Caro, Colombia

Coordinador de Estrategias y Programas

Zootecnista de la Universidad Nacional Agraria la Molina, actualmente cursando la especialización de Manejo Holístico en Ganadería Regenerativa del Instituto Savory y OVIS 21. Es Focal Point Group para Latinoamérica y el Caribe del Foro Mundial para la Alimentación (WFF por sus siglas en inglés). También es miembro del Área de Representación Institucional de Ypard-Perú. Tiene alrededor de 3 años de experiencia en ganadería pastoril lechera y un año en formulación de proyectos para el desarrollo agrario rural. Actualmente se desempeña como Lider Comercial en C3K Waste Management Consulting donde trabaja con microorganismos eficientes (EM).  

"Me entusiasma este puesto, porque será algo nuevo y retador, donde espero proponer y desarrollar nuevas estrategias e ideas para el desarrollo de programas que impulsen el desarrollo de capacidades en las juventudes rurales de Latinoamérica y el Caribe. De esta manera me gustaría promover un trabajo sinérgico entre organizaciones juveniles, de manera que las voces de los jóvenes no solo sean escuchadas, si no que sean participes  activos de los procesos que tanto necesita el mundo para revolucionar los sistemas alimentarios".

Juan David Caro

Comunicadora Social con 8 años de experiencia en el campo de la difusión e información. Desde el año 2014 ha trabajado como redactora para periódicos impresos y a su vez sitios digitales informativos, después para revistas regionales centroamericanas especializadas en el sector agropecuario y constructivo. En julio del 2021 se desarrolló a profundidad en nuevas tendencias tecnológicas en cuanto al manejo de redes sociales como consultora y desde marzo de este año apoya el área de comunicación de Hábitat para la Humanidad Nicaragua.  

Byanka Narvaez, Nicaragua

"Desde mi experiencia como comunicadora social, periodista y con experiencia en temas digitales, crear incidencia desde los jóvenes hasta las instituciones involucradas a través de productos comunicacionales, es una manera de educar enfocados en el relevo generacional y la seguridad de garantizar jóvenes capaces de tecnificar la producción alimentaria global, transformando los sistemas de forma que sean eficientes, sustentables y responsables con el uso de los recursos, para garantizar su uso a largo plazo".

YPARD strengthens its team in Latin America and the Caribbean

 As part of its efforts to strengthen work in the region, YPARD has just integrated a new group of professionals in different areas, with the aim that they contribute from their knowledge and experiences, for the transformation of food systems. The new members of the team belong to Peru, Colombia, Nicaragua and Brazil.

Sebastián Pedraza, YPARD Representative for LAC, highlights the importance of integrating these professionals into the work team. "We have identified many opportunities in the region, having the effort of this new team of talented people will allow us to reach more people and work more efficiently towards our vision of a strengthened rural youth," he said.

The new members of the LAC team:


Edwin Prado (Brazil), Alliances Coordinator: Agronomist from the Federal University of Sergipe, currently pursuing an MBA in Agribusiness at ESALQ/USP and with experience in the area of project management, acting as Project Manager at the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture - IICA, sharing and building knowledge with a focus on the promotion of rural development. He is interested in topics related to risk management in agriculture, rural youth, innovation, sustainability in production systems, climate change, agricultural cooperation, agricultural policy and economics, entrepreneurship and rural development.

"I hope to contribute, together with the other members of the YPARD-LAC team, with the proposal of a strategic integration plan that involves all its national representations and that includes multilateral actors of local, national and regional action. A diversified and active network at all levels is critical to 'leaving no one behind' in building more prosperous rural communities and agri-food systems."



Claudia Rendón (Colombia), Member of the Alliances Team: Economist from the University of Antioquia, specialist in Management of social development entities from the EAFIT University. With interests in working with vulnerable populations, project management related to strengthening local agri-food systems, the appropriation and social dissemination of knowledge, gender equity and socioeconomic compensation studies.

"I am excited about this position, in the sense that it allows me to share experiences, meet other young people with different visions from the position that each one inhabits, likewise, I am interested in contributing from respect, on the knowledge of the Colombian agricultural sector, especially in the processes that are being developed in Putumayo and its great geographical location that combines the Andean and Amazonian landscapes,where economic possibilities can be explored through the identification of advantages over the supply and production of various food systems."



Juan David Caro (Colombia) Strategy and Program Coordinator> Zootechnician from the National Agrarian University La Molina, currently studying the specialization of Holistic Management in Regenerative Livestock of the Savory Institute and OVIS 21. He is the Focal Point Group for Latin America and the Caribbean of the World Food Forum (WFF). He is also a member of the Institutional Representation Area of Ypard-Peru. He has about 3 years of experience in dairy farming and one year in formulating projects for rural agricultural development. She currently works as a Commercial Leader at C3K Waste Management Consulting where she works with efficient microorganisms (EM).

"I am excited about this position, because it will be something new and challenging, where I hope to propose and develop new strategies and ideas for the development of programs that promote capacity building in rural youth in Latin America and the Caribbean. In this way I would like to promote synergistic work among youth organizations, so that the voices of young people are not only heard, but are active participants in the processes that the world so desperately needs to revolutionize food systems."



Bryanka Narvaez (Nicaragua) Member of the Communications Team: Social Communicator with 8 years of experience in the field of dissemination and information. Since 2014 shehas worked as an editor for printed newspapers and in turn informative digital sites, then for Central American regional magazines specialized in the agricultural and construction sector. In July 2021 she developed in depth in new technological trends in terms of the management of social networks as a consultant and since March of this year I support the communication area of Habitat for Nicaraguan Humanity.

"From my experience as a social communicator, journalist and with experience in digital issues, creating advocacy from young people to the institutions involved through communication products, is a way to educate focused on generational change and security to guarantee young people capable of technifying global food production, transforming systems so that they are efficient,sustainable and responsible with the use of resources, to guarantee their long-term use".
