Training opportunity on "Origin-Linked Quality Products", Akossombo, Ghana on 12-17 May

The United Nations' FAO and its associates is organising a training opportunity on "Origin-Linked Quality Products", Akossombo, Ghana on 12-17 May.

Together with FAO, ROPPA, WIPO, UNIDO, OAPI and REDD, CTA runs a two years capacity building programme on OLPs.

The United Nations' FAO and its associates is organising a training opportunity on "Origin-Linked Quality Products", Akossombo, Ghana on 12-17 May.

Darjeeling (India), Argan oil (Morocco), Blue Mountain coffee (Jamaica), Rooibos tea (South Africa ) or Penja pepper (Cameroon) are Origin Linked Quality Products (OLPs) that play an important role in the rural development of the regions where they are grown. Hundreds of products in Africa could, if their potentials were properly identified, play an important role in improving incomes of the local producers.

Together with FAO, ROPPA, WIPO, UNIDO, OAPI and REDD, CTA runs a two years capacity building programme on OLPs.

The next training will be held in Ghana on 12-17 May, 2014 for English-speaking countries, namely : Gambia, Ghana, Liberia, Nigeria, Rwanda and Sierra Leone.
