On 10th July 2017, the United Nations will meet to track progress on the Sustainable Development Goals. For each of the five weeks leading up to this key event, Farming First and its diverse supporter base will share stories of success to relate to each of the five targets of SDG2 in turn:

  • 12th – 16th June:   SDG 2.5 - Protecting genetic diversity
  • 19th – 23rd June:   SDg 2.4 - Resilient food systems
  • 26th – 30th June:   SDG 2.3 - Doubling agricultural productivity & smallholder incomes
  • 3rd - 7th July:         SDG 2.2 - Ending malnutrition
  • 10th – 14th July:    SDG 2.1 - Ending Hunger

From building climate resilience in Haiti, to a return to traditional food crops in Senegal, stories will also explore how agriculture can have a significant impact on advancing many other Sustainable Development Goals, including ending poverty (SDG1) the empowerment of women (SDG5), and combatting climate change (SDG13).

The online campaign will culminate at an Agriculture & Food Day being held in New York on 13th July, that will also discuss the interlinkages between agriculture and Agenda 2030.
