The Biennial Africa Climate Smart Agriculture Stakeholders Conference

The 1st Biennial Africa Climate Smart Agriculture Stakeholders Conference is scheduled to hold on the 1st and 2nd December, 2020. It will be hosted by FARA and conducted virtually. The central objective of the conference is to foster continental and national CSA readiness to advert the negative effects of climate change and ensure sustainability of agriculture, food and nutrition security, taking a food system approach. The Conference will include a session dedicated to the presentation of research papers, to nurture the policy and technical dialogue among academicians, researchers, managers, policy makers, small producers organisations, civil society organisations, agribusiness sector, and students”.

Conference theme

The conference is seeking submissions related to the following conference topics:

  • Assessment of the state of climate smart agriculture in Africa
  • Spate of technology development and adoption in CSA
  • Foresight, projections and futures of CSA in Africa
  • Innovative CSA technologies and practices for Africa smallholder farmers
  • Synergies and trade-offs among the CSA pillars: productivity, adaptation and mitigation
  • Role of private sector in successful scaling mechanisms for CSA adoption
  • Other related topics will also be considered 

Prospective authors are requested to send an extended abstract of not more than 500 words with one table, graph or illustration schema. The name, organization affiliation and email of the author should be provided at the top of the document. Submitted abstracts will be evaluated by the Scientific Committee.

If abstract is accepted, and author agrees to send full text paper, including results, tables, figures and references. The full paper will be further reviewed and authors of accepted papers will be fully supported to participate in the conference. The papers will further be published as a special edition of a reputable journal. All submissions should report original research results that has not been published elsewhere except academic thesis or project report. Full text papers (.docx and .doc) will be accepted by Electronic Submission Form. Manuscripts should meet the format set by the Conference committee and are subject to review.
