In action

As a Quality Management team, we are closely involved in the quality assessment during the production of the young plants and are also responsible for the final assessment. The Quality Specialist is someone who broadens and deepens our team. In addition to the core task of Quality Inspection, in which you look at the external characteristics of the young plants (the profile), you will also ensure the contribution from Quality Management with regard to Phytopathology in our production. The prevention and, if necessary, targeted control of plant diseases is becoming increasingly important and requires clear identification. The third important task of the Specialist is to make a solid contribution to innovative developments in the field of quality assessment in the production process and the communication of the data obtained.

The challenge

In this role you will assess our product before delivery and this quality control will take place at both internal and external locations. During these checks you observe any deviations and you discuss these quality deviations with Cultivation and Product Specialists. In case of deviations, you make an estimate of the shortages and share this information with the internal teams, so that it can be shared with those involved in a timely manner. Determining plant diseases and building up this specialism is part of your job. This also includes performing simple tests in a basic lab. You maintain contact with the NAKT and NVWA and you participate in crisis meetings if there is talk of a Q organism. An important part will be initiating or contributing ideas to innovations such as the automation of quality assessment in the greenhouse.

Qualifications

Your Profile

We are looking for a colleague with a HBO work and thinking level, which has been obtained through study or work experience. It is important that you have knowledge of plants (young plants from cuttings and seed) and having Phytosanitary knowledge is a big plus. In addition, it is important that you have strong communication skills, both in Dutch and English. You have a very high degree of accuracy in performing work and because of your analytical thinking skills and the right mindset you are able to propose and implement improvements. You are familiar and skilled with digital developments and you have an improvement mindset and take initiative to realize improvements. We ask for flexibility with regard to working hours due to highly seasonal work, with a spring peak (January to May) and autumn peak (August to October).
