The Association of Field Ornithologists (AFO) is dedicated to the scientific study and dissemination of information about birds in their natural habitats. The Alexander Bergstrom Memorial Research Awards support avian research in the U.S./Canada and Latin America. Grants are up to US$1 thousand for applicants in the U.S. and Canada; grants are up to US$1.5 thousand for applicants in Latin America. Applicants and/or their primary research supervisors must be members of the AFO. Application deadlines are 15 January for USA/Canada, and 15 July for Latin America.
