Revisiting the use of sewage sludge in agriculture and the role of emerging pollutants

Sewage sludge has been commonly used for improving the nutrient status of agricultural soils. The development of various advanced analytical techniques has identified new risks associated with the so-called "emerging pollutants". This work will focus on the use of sewage sludge in agriculture with minimizing the associated risks.

The Environmental and Isotope Geochemistry Group, Faculty of Environmental Sciences, CULS Prague opens PhD positions starting in October 2020.

Requirements

  • Diploma in a relevant discipline (e.g., chemistry, soil science, biology, geochemistry)
  • Solid analytical background
  • Ability to work in an interdisciplinary team

The PhD project is supported by external grants of the supervisor.
Within the 4 years study period, the PhD students will be rewarded with 17000 - 23000 CZK/month net (680 - 920 EUR), which is sufficient for living in the Czech Republic. The total salary consists of scholarship (fixed) and participation in projects, internal grants, and bonuses (flexible).
