Position Description
The Communications Consultant position will provide support with writing, editing and content creation for print products and online communications (websites and social media platforms). The consultant will contribute to ICARDA’s communication activities for the purpose of informing on scientific outcomes, promoting success stories and advocacy to diverse stakeholders (media, donors, scientists, policy-makers, national and international partners, and development organizations). Tasks include:
- Writing & editing for range of communication products (brochures, leaflets, reports, etc.)
- Developing reader-friendly blogs based on reports and updates received from scientists
- Contributing to social media posts to promote ICARDA’s activities and achievements
- Reshaping content for targeted audiences, different products and messaging
- Synthesizing information from different sources to contribute to group projects and promotional campaigns
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree at minimum
- Native language-level fluency in English (written and spoken)
- Excellent writing and editing skills and handle on audience-oriented communication.
- Proficiency in MS Office, and use of online tools such as Flickr, Facebook and Twitter
Terms of Position
The position is temporary for up to 3 months, with possibility of extension based on mutual agreement. The Consultant will be paid at a daily rate depending on experience and expertise of the candidate. The Consultant will use his/her own laptop. ICARDA is not responsible for medical insurance. Position is based in Amman at ICARDA’s office. Working remotely will be considered on case basis.
