Development worker at GIZ

The Centre for Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) is a leading Vietnamese non-governmental organisation that was founded in 2006. SRDs programme comprises activities in the areas of sustainable agriculture and livelihoods, climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction, forest law enforcement, governance and trade (FLEGT) and REDD+, communications, research and advocacy, supporting people with disabilities and gender, and child protection.

SRD defines its target groups as small scale farmers, community based organizations, rural communities, and communities in vulnerable areas. As a Development Worker you will work with the Center of Sustainable Rural Development (SRD).

The GIZ, a federal enterprise, supports the German Government in achieving its objectives in the field of international cooperation for sustainable development. Based on the strategic objectives of the partner organisation and the GIZ Vietnam, the following tasks of the local partner organisation have been identified and will be addressed in the joint project.

Your tasks

Support the strategy and programme development of SRD to improve the quality, effectiveness and scope of the organizations activities

Building capacities of SRD programme staff

  • Up-scale SRDs engagement in Climate Smart Agriculture as well as on the topics of FLEGT and REDD+
  • Further develop SRDs engagement in advocacy at national level on FLEGT and climate change adaptation
  • Support opportunities to get access to funding relevant to the future programme portfolio
  • Serve as a liaison of SRD to the Climate Change Working Group (CCWG)
