Junior research group leader Economics and Institutions of the Bioeconomy
(up to TV-L E14 depending on personal qualification).
Requirements
The ScienceCampus seeks to appoint an excellent junior scientist with a high potential for developing an internationally recognized research agenda on economic and institutional challenges of the plant-based bioeconomy. Eligible candidates should have a doctoral degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics or a related field, including an emerging track record in their postdoctoral phase with documented interests and competences in relevant economic fields such as entrepreneurship, business economics, markets and trade, institutional governance, political economy as well as societal acceptance and business ethics of the bioeconomy.
Job description
We expect the successful candidate to supervise PhD students in the field of Economics and/or Agricultural Economics. Moreover, the appointee should be willing to collaborate with researchers across the ScienceCampus and to strengthen its international visibility.
The initial appointment will be for 36 months and the preferred starting date is October 1st, 2017. After a positive evaluation in the final year, the appointment can be extended up to further 24 months. For both employment periods, the contract requirements set in the German Temporary Science Employment Law (Wissenschaftszeitvertragsgesetz (WissZeitVG)) have to be adhered to.
The appointee will be located at the Leibniz Institute of Agricultural Development in Transition Economies (IAMO). The position is endowed with a budget for financing of up to 2 doctoral students, a research assistant, travelling, etc..
