IAAS (International Association of Students in Agricultural and Related Sciences) is the biggest student organization in the field of agriculture and related sciences worldwide. IAAS was founded in 1957 and started with only 8 member countries. It grew a lot to the organization it is nowadays with over 40 member countries and about 10.000 students as members. IAAS wants to promote the Exchange of Experience, Knowledge and Ideas and to improve the mutual Understanding between Students in the field of Agricultural and Related Sciences all over the World.
The IAAS exchange program – ‘Expro’- exists over 45 years and in this time, more than 20.000 students have been exchanged with IAAS. The IAAS exchange program gives opportunities to all students in Countries, where a recognised local committee of IAAS is active, to do a traineeship (internship) in another country. With ‘Expro’, you can learn and experience things that cannot be learned out of course books.

Three categories of IAAS exchange program
- The Ceres program: Internships on farms
- The Archimedes program: Internships related with Education, research, engineering, management. Most often, Archimedes takes place in companies, organisations, universities and research institutions.
- The Libertas program: These internships are community based projects, mostly voluntary work.
The minimum duration of an IAAS Expro internship is 3 weeks, the maximum duration is 48 weeks.
The aim of IAAS exchange program
IAAS expro is aiming to give a positive learning experience, develop theoretical and practical leadership skills. Beside that, IAAS provide the opportunity to students who wants to improve their awareness and knowledge about social issues and different practice of sending and receiving country. In addition, IAAS support student to contribute more to student personal and professional life goals.
Call for partners
