Young People are making their Show for tackling serious issues! - Landscapes approach

HerbThe Global Landscapes Forum (GLF)'s two-day event will be kick-started with a TedX-style Youth session. Nine young people will take the floor to deliver inspirational speeches about youth’s role in the natural resources sector.

“Thought leaders” in youth issues will share with us how they have changed the way youth are perceived in natural resource management sectors and “Youth champions” will tell us about their success stories in landscape based initiatives where involvement of youth was critical.

Some discussions with the on-site and online audience will be led around these with the purpose of bringing out action-oriented solutions for youth empowerment in the landscapes sector. 

The discussions will mainly deal with financing and sustainable entrepreneurship, overcoming the negative perception of employment in landscapes sector, capacity building and the power of youth movements.

The GLF will is held at the University campus on Nov 16-17 in the context of the yearly UN climate negotiations meetings (COP19) and gathers over 1,000 experts from many different nonprofit organisations who will discuss the links between food security, agriculture, forestry, natural resource management, nature conservation, policies and climate change. check out the website: http://landscapes.org

The youth session is organized by YPARD and CIFOR with the support of CCAFS, CGIAR, GFAR, CTA and FANRPAN.
