Latin America and the Caribbean Youth Week - Hosted by YIL

We are pleased to announce that the Latin America & Caribbean Youth Week is kicking off in just two weeks and will last from June 27th to July 2nd.

The GLF LAC Youth Week will be hosted by the Youth in Landscapes Initiative (YIL) in collaboration with the LAC Youth Project Team and the Global Landscapes Forum (GLF).

Featuring young activists, scientists and other changemakers across the region, the first-ever GLF LAC Youth Week will highlight efforts to build an inclusive future, and spark a discussion around conservation, land tenure rights and deforestation.

In order to increase young people’s participation in the sessions, we would appreciate it if you could promote the GLF LAC Week within your organisations and with other youth networks across the LAC Region and beyond.

SESSIONS

Registration and participation in all the discussions are free. The sessions are offered in Spanish, Portuguese and English.

Kindly check the agenda and the details of each session here.

REGIONAL DIALOGUE

The week is closing with a live digital dialogue co-organized with the LAC offices of Youth4Nature and Young Professionals for Agricultural Development (YPARD), on the theme of “decolonizing solutions for deforestation” (with simultaneous translation in Spanish & Portuguese available). We would be really grateful if you can share the information and registration link with young people in your network, as we would love to hold space for the diversity of voices and visions across the region. For the Regional Dialogue certificates will be provided to participants.

If you are a student or young professional with a strong interest in landscape restoration and climate justice efforts for the LAC region, then the GLF LAC Youth Week is for you.

Young people living in LAC and youth from the LAC diaspora are especially encouraged to participate in the digital regional dialogue and share their experiences and visions for their landscapes.
