As the world gathers for CBD COP17 in Yerevan, Armenia, YPARD calls for young people and farmers to be recognized as essential partners in protecting biodiversity and transforming food systems. In its position paper, Youth, Biodiversity, and Equitable Food Systems, YPARD outlines key priorities for implementing the Kunming–Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework, including accessible financing for youth-led initiatives, farmer-led conservation, agroecology, Indigenous knowledge, and stronger collaboration across the Rio Conventions.
Biodiversity protection requires more than commitments, it demands collective action. Governments, policymakers, development partners, and other stakeholders must invest in youth-led solutions, support farmers and local communities, and translate global agreements into meaningful action on the ground.
Explore YPARD’s recommendations and join the call for equitable, youth-inclusive action to protect biodiversity and build sustainable food systems.
