We are thrilled to welcome our new YPARD Canada Country Representative, Juwonlo Dahunsi.

Juwonlo is an agronomist with expertise in soil and water conservation, land management, and climate-smart agriculture. He is also a sustainability advocate and writer, contributing to debates on the "Right to Food" and the adoption of green technologies. He is passionate about integrating local knowledge with technological innovation to tackle current and future challenges in global food production and water management.

Juwonlo holds a Bachelor’s degree in Agriculture from Obafemi Awolowo University, Nigeria. He is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Agricultural Sciences at the Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada, with a focus on leveraging geophysical techniques to improve soil and water management. 

He has participated in several interdisciplinary agricultural leadership programs, including the NetZero Food Systems Challenge organized by the Arrell Food Institute in Canada, and was recently selected for the Soil and Water Conservation Society's Emerging Leaders Program 2025. Juwonlo is also a member of various global networks, including the Lions Club International, where he has had the opportunity to lead and participate in various food and environmental projects in both Nigeria and Canada.

Juwonlo is dedicated to fostering the professional development of YPARD members in Canada through capacity-building workshops and webinars in collaboration with local experts and organizations. He aims to expand YPARD outreach and activeness by establishing leadership teams and regional sub-divisions. He envisions a platform where members can share growth opportunities from their institutions and organizations with other members, supporting one another in achieving common goals.

He is committed to building partnerships with local agricultural organizations, institutes, and institutions with shared values. Through these collaborations, he hopes  YPARD will implement and support initiatives that create lasting impacts on local communities and individuals. He believes projects such as conservation and restoration efforts and outreach programs to high schools to boost interest in Agriculture among young people, can bring significant value to various communities in Canada.
