Lima, 12 de febrero del 2025 - El pasado 31 de enero y 1 de febrero se realizó el taller de arranque del proyecto "Redes YPARD en Acción", una iniciativa implementada por la Asociación YPARD CAPÍTULO PERUANO, con su equipo voluntario, y financiada por el Programa de Colaboración Global para Sistemas Alimentarios Resilientes de la Fundación McKnight. Este proyecto tiene como objetivo establecer y consolidar los Capítulos de YPARD en Ecuador y Bolivia, mientras fortalece simultáneamente el capítulo existente. Esta iniciativa busca articular y potenciar la participación de las juventudes en el desarrollo rural y en los sistemas alimentarios sostenibles de la región andina.
En América Latina, las juventudes rurales enfrentan múltiples desafíos, como el acceso limitado a tierras, la brecha en la formación técnica y profesional que dificulta su inserción e impulso en el desarrollo sostenible del sector agrario. Además, la escasa articulación de organizaciones juveniles y la limitada participación en la toma de decisiones públicas agravan la exclusión de los jóvenes en los procesos de desarrollo agrario y territorial.
Ante esta problemática, YPARD CAPÍTULO PERUANO lidera este proyecto, que busca fortalecer la colaboración de la región andina promoviendo el liderazgo juvenil en el desarrollo agrario y territorial. Para ello, se conformarán equipos de liderazgo, se elaborarán planes estratégicos y se brindará soporte a las iniciativas de estos nuevos capítulos.
En ese sentido, se implementarán diversas acciones clave, tales como diagnósticos territoriales, convocatorias para conformar equipos multidisciplinarios en Ecuador y Bolivia, talleres para la gestión de proyectos enfocados en desarrollo rural y sistemas alimentarios resilientes, así como intercambios de experiencias y un encuentro presencial entre los tres capítulos andinos. Estas acciones buscan generar redes de trabajo sostenibles y fortalecer la voz de las juventudes en la construcción de políticas públicas agrarias inclusivas.
Con "Redes YPARD en Acción", no solo reafirmamos el compromiso de YPARD Perú, sino también el de YPARD LAC, nuestra oficina articuladora para América Latina. Las acciones desarrolladas en el marco de este proyecto contribuirán a futuras réplicas en la creación de nuevos capítulos por parte del equipo regional, fortaleciendo la promoción de espacios de participación juvenil y contribuyendo al desarrollo rural sostenible e inclusivo en la región andina.

YPARD PERUAN CHAPTER launches Tri-national Project “YPARD Networks in Action” to strengthen youth processes in agricultural development
Lima, February 12, 2025 - On January 31 and February 1 2025, the kick-off workshop of the project “YPARD Networks in Action” was held. This is an initiative implemented by the YPARD PERU Chapter with its volunteer team, and funded by the McKnight Foundation's Global Collaborative Program for Resilient Food Systems. This project aims to establish and consolidate YPARD Chapters in Ecuador and Bolivia, while simultaneously strengthening the existing chapter in Peru. This initiative seeks to articulate and enhance youth participation in rural development and sustainable food systems in the Andean region.
In Latin America, rural youth face multiple challenges, such as limited access to land, and the gap in technical and professional training that hinders their insertion and promotion in the sustainable development of the agricultural sector. In addition, the limited articulation of youth organizations and limited participation in public decision making aggravate the exclusion of young people in the processes of agrarian and territorial development.
In response to this problem, YPARD PERU CHAPTER is leading this project which seeks to strengthen collaboration in the Andean region by promoting youth leadership in agricultural and territorial development. To this end, leadership teams will be formed, strategic plans will be developed, and support will be provided to the initiatives of these new chapters.
Several key actions will be implemented, such as territorial diagnoses, calls to form multidisciplinary teams in Ecuador and Bolivia, workshops for the management of projects focused on rural development and resilient food systems, as well as exchanges of experiences and a face-to-face meeting between the three Andean chapters. These actions seek to generate sustainable networks and strengthen the voice of youth in the construction of inclusive agrarian public policies.
With “YPARD Networks in Action”, we not only reaffirm the commitment of YPARD Peru, but also that of YPARD LAC, our coordinating office for Latin America. The actions developed within the framework of this project will contribute to future replications in the creation of new chapters by the regional team, strengthening the promotion of spaces for youth participation and contributing to sustainable and inclusive rural development in the Andean region.
