YPARD RDC et Collibri Foundation (Belgique) signent un contrat de collaboration pour la mise en œuvre du Projet d’appui à l’agro-entrepreneuriat des jeunes et la préservation des écosystèmes forestiers de Pelende (PAAJEPEF-Pelende) en province du Kwango en RDC.
Le projet PAAJEPEF-Pelende est une initiative qui vise à autonomiser 150 jeunes en milieu rural de Pelende nord (territoire de Kenge, province du Kwango) grâce à l’entrepreneuriat agricole et apicole tout en facilitant une synergie entre le développement économique et la conservation des écosystèmes, plaçant les jeunes au cœur d’un changement positif et durable.
L’objectif du Projet est de contribuer, via la formation des jeunes, à la réduction significative du chômage des jeunes ainsi que la transition vers des pratiques agricoles durables avec une diminution de la dégradation des terres, la préservation des écosystèmes savanicoles, la prévention de la déforestation, et le renforcement de la résilience économique et environnementale dans la chefferie de Pelende nord/territoire de Kenge, province du Kwango, RDC.
L’originalité dans ce projet, tous les jeunes ciblés seront formés en leadership transformationnel et en développement personnel pour inciter en eux le changement personnel et induire le changement local/communautaire. Ils vont bénéficier d’un accompagnement-coaching pour garder leur ambition de devenir entrepreneur agricole qui gère leurs business agricoles TOUT en restant gardien de la forêt autour de leur communauté. Des champs écoles paysans (CEP) seront opérationnels pour l’appropriation des pratiques agro-sylvo-apicoles.
Grâce à la formation, l’accompagnement-coaching continue, l’appui en fonds de démarrage ; et la mobilisation communautaire, le tout axé sur des approches participatives, le projet estime que: des jeunes disposeront d’activités génératrices des revenus/micro-entreprises fonctionnelles dans les filières agricoles ou filière apicole ; des jeunes utiliseront les techniques de production agroforestière sensible au climat dans leurs exploitations agricoles ; des comités locaux de gestion des moulins amélioreront leur recette et gestion financière.
Le projet aura un focus sur les jeunes et les communautés pour protéger les essences mellifères et les écosystèmes forestiers existants ou reforestés. Les jeunes et les communautés s’approprieront des techniques et contribueront à la régression de l’usage des feux de brousse au niveau communautaire.
Ainsi, le projet privilégiera une approche participative où toutes les parties prenantes (jeunes, leaders communautaires, autorités coutumières et autorités politico-administratives des entités déconcentrées de la zone de l’intervention) sont impliquées. Par ailleurs, il faudra noter que le projet PAAJEPEF-Pelende va collaborer avec le projet N’situ Pelende qui est déjà présent dans la zone pour création de projets agro-entrepreneuriat. YPARD va appuyer les filières économiques existantes au sein du projet N’situ Pelende grâce à son expertise en formation et accompagnement-coaching.
Le projet est financé par Collibri Foundation de Colruyt Group au terme du contrat de collaboration signé entre YPARD RDC et Collibri Foundation. Le cout du projet est de 150.000 € sur 3 ans allant de mars 2024 à mars2026).
YPARD en tant que réseau des jeunes par les jeunes pour les jeunes mettra son expérience dans l’accompagnement des jeunes pour atteindre les objectifs assignés dans ce projet selon la théorie de changement proposé conformément à l’appel à projet et la mission de Collibri Foundation, celle de « donner à des jeunes en situation difficile la possibilité d’envisager un avenir meilleur grâce à la formation, l’orientation et l’échange. Et ce, tant en Belgique qu’à l’étranger ».

YPARD DRC and Collibri Foundation (Belgium) sign a collaboration contract for the implementation of the Project to support youth agro-entrepreneurship and the preservation of forest ecosystems in Pelende (PAAJEPEF-Pelende) in the Kwango province of the DRC.
The PAAJEPEF-Pelende Project is an initiative that aims to empower 150 young people in rural North Pelende (Kenge Territory, Kwango Province) through agricultural and beekeeping entrepreneurship while facilitating a synergy between economic development and ecosystem conservation, placing young people at the heart of positive and sustainable change.
The aim of the project is to contribute, through the training of young people, to a significant reduction in youth unemployment as well as the transition to sustainable agricultural practices with a reduction in land degradation, the preservation of savannah ecosystems, the prevention of deforestation, and the strengthening of economic and environmental resilience in the chiefdom of Pelende Nord/Kenge territory, Kwango province, DRC.
What's original about this project is that all the young people targeted will be trained in transformational leadership and personal development to encourage personal change and bring about local/community change. They will receive coaching to help them maintain their ambition to become agricultural entrepreneurs who run their own farming businesses WHILE remaining guardians of the forest around their community. Farmer Field Schools (FFS) will be set up to help them adopt agro-silvicultural practices.
Through training, ongoing coaching, support for start-up funds and community mobilisation, all based on participatory approaches, the project estimates that: young people will have functional income-generating activities/micro-businesses in the agricultural or beekeeping sectors; young people will use climate-sensitive agroforestry production techniques on their farms; local mill management committees will improve their revenue and financial management.
The project will focus on young people and communities to protect melliferous species and existing or reforested forest ecosystems. Young people and communities will adopt techniques and help to reduce the use of bush fires at community level.
In this way, the project will favour a participatory approach in which all stakeholders (young people, community leaders, traditional authorities and political and administrative authorities of the deconcentrated entities in the intervention zone) are involved. It should also be noted that the PAAJEPEF-Pelende project will be collaborating with the N'situ Pelende project, which is already present in the area for the creation of agro-entrepreneurship projects. YPARD will support the existing economic sectors within the N'situ Pelende project with its expertise in training and coaching.
The project is financed by Collibri Foundation of Colruyt Group under the terms of the collaboration contract signed between YPARD DRC and Collibri Foundation. The cost of the project is €150,000 over 3 years (from March 2024 to March 2026).
YPARD, as a network of young people by young people for young people, will use its experience in supporting young people to achieve the objectives set out in this project according to the theory of change proposed in the call for projects and the mission of the Collibri Foundation, which is to "give young people in difficult situations the opportunity to envisage a better future through training, guidance and exchange. Both in Belgium and abroad".
