YPARD LAC presente en el Foro Mundial de la Tierra y el Foro Mundial de la Tierra para Jóvenes | YPARD LAC at the Global Land Forum and the Global Land Forum for Youth

Del 16 al 21 de junio de 2025, en Ocaña y Bogotá (Colombia), se celebró el Foro Mundial de la Tierra para Jóvenes (GLFY) y el Foro Mundial de la Tierra (GLF), espacios clave para dialogar sobre el futuro del planeta, los derechos a la tierra y el rol de las juventudes en la construcción de paz, justicia climática y desarrollo sostenible. En ambos encuentros, YPARD LAC tuvo una participación activa, representando a las juventudes rurales de América Latina y el Caribe.

Nuestra comitiva estuvo conformada por el Coordinador Regional para YPARD LAC, Sebastián Pedraza, y representantes de YPARD Colombia, México y Brasil, quienes llegaron a estos espacios gracias al apoyo de organizaciones aliadas, redes juveniles y miembros de la International Land Coalition (ILC).

“Nuestra participación en el GLF fue el fruto de largos meses de trabajo como parte del Comité Nacional organizador y el subcomité organizador del foro de juventudes. Estuvimos trabajando en el diseño de cada espacio con el objetivo de intercambiar experiencias y recoger las voces de las juventudes a nivel global. Tuvimos la oportunidad de dialogar con varias instituciones y organizaciones juveniles y fortalecer nuestra apuesta como miembros de la ILC”,

Durante el Foro Mundial de la Tierra para Jóvenes (GLFY) en Ocaña, YPARD participó activamente en sesiones de formación, paneles y encuentros interregionales. Como resultado las y los participantes elaboraron un manifiesto global en el que exigen mayor reconocimiento, protección y participación real en los procesos de gobernanza de la tierra. El documento resalta la urgencia de acceso seguro y equitativo a la tierra para las juventudes rurales e indígenas, el respeto a los derechos colectivos y la necesidad de incluir sus voces en las decisiones climáticas y territoriales. Este manifiesto fue presentado ante líderes y organizaciones internacionales como un llamado a la acción concreta y al compromiso intergeneracional con la justicia social y ambiental.

Una voz rumbo a la COP30

En el marco del Foro Mundial de la Tierra (GLF) en Bogotá, YPARD LAC, con el apoyo de organizaciones aliadas como la International Land Coalition, la Agencia Italiana de Cooperación para el Desarrollo, la Global Youth Biodiversity Network en su capítulo para Colombia.y la Union Europea, organizó la sesión paralela: “Del territorio a la COP30: Construyendo un Futuro Climático Justo”. Esta tuvo como propósito contextualizar a los asistentes sobre la relevancia de la próxima COP30, que se celebrará en Brasil en 2025, y visibilizar los aportes de la juventud en los procesos de gobernanza climática. Participantes de distintos territorios compartieron experiencias concretas sobre acción climática, agroecología y acceso a la tierra, proyectando las prioridades juveniles hacia los espacios de negociación global.

From June 16 to 21, 2025, in Ocaña and Bogotá (Colombia), the Global Land Forum for Youth (GLFY) and the Global Land Forum (GLF) were held, key spaces for dialogue on the future of the planet, land rights, and the role of youth in building peace, climate justice, and sustainable development. YPARD LAC actively participated in both events, representing rural youth in Latin America and the Caribbean.

Our delegation was made up of the Regional Coordinator for YPARD LAC, Sebastián Pedraza, and representatives from YPARD Colombia, Mexico, and Brazil, who were able to attend these events thanks to the support of partner organizations, youth networks, and members of the International Land Coalition (ILC).

“Our participation in the GLF was the result of many months of work as part of the National Organizing Committee and the Youth Forum Organizing Subcommittee. We worked on the design of each space with the aim of exchanging experiences and gathering the voices of young people at the global level. We had the opportunity to dialogue with various institutions and youth organizations and strengthen our commitment as members of the ILC,”
said Sebastián Pedraza, Regional Coordinator of YPARD LAC.

During the Global Land Forum for Youth (GLFY) in Ocaña, YPARD actively participated in training sessions, panels, and interregional meetings. As a result, participants drafted a global manifesto demanding greater recognition, protection, and real participation in land governance processes. The document highlights the urgency of secure and equitable access to land for rural and indigenous youth, respect for collective rights, and the need to include their voices in climate and land decisions. This manifesto was presented to international leaders and organizations as a call for concrete action and intergenerational commitment to social and environmental justice.

A voice heading to COP30

Within the framework of the Global Land Forum (GLF) in Bogotá, YPARD LAC, with the support of partner organizations such as the International Land Coalition, the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation, the Global Youth Biodiversity Network in its Colombia chapter, and the European Union, organized the parallel session: “From the Territory to COP30: Building a Just Climate Future.” The purpose of this session was to contextualize the relevance of the upcoming COP30, to be held in Brazil in 2025, and to highlight the contributions of young people in climate governance processes. Participants from different territories shared concrete experiences on climate action, agroecology, and access to land, projecting youth priorities toward global negotiation spaces.
