Marie Juliana Krestaline Dedans is a specialist in climate resilience and the blue economy, with over six years of experience in sustainable fisheries, food safety, and environmental governance. She currently serves as a Technical Officer at the Ministry of Agro-Industry, Food Security and Blue Economy in Mauritius.
She holds a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Agriculture and Aquaculture Technology from the University of Mauritius. Krestaline is a recipient of two distinguished international recognitions: the Australia Awards Short Course in Climate Change Adaptation and Mitigation for Africa in 2019, and the Ireland Fellows Programme, through which she completed her Master’s in Climate Change, Agriculture and Food Security at the University of Galway in 2024.
In 2025, she further solidified her expertise by presenting her study on “Growth Rate, Succession, Survival, and Identification of Biofouling Organisms on Different Types of Nets on a Tropical Aquaculture Farm" at the WIOMSA Scientific Symposium.
