The Women and Rural Youth Programme of the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA) is inviting young people living in rural areas across Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) to participate in a survey aimed at understanding their experiences, aspirations, and challenges within agri-food systems.

Young people play a vital role in shaping the future of agriculture and rural development. However, many continue to face barriers that limit their participation, leadership opportunities, and access to resources. This survey seeks to gather insights on how rural youth engage in their communities, the skills and support they need to thrive, and the conditions required to strengthen their leadership and contributions to sustainable agri-food systems.

Please note that this survey is specifically intended for young people living in rural areas of Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC). The findings will contribute to a better understanding of the realities, opportunities, and challenges facing rural youth in the region and help inform programmes, policies, and initiatives that respond to their needs and priorities.

To ensure broad accessibility and participation, the survey is available in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.

Participation is voluntary, and responses will remain anonymous. The survey takes approximately 15 minutes to complete, and all information will be used solely for technical and analytical purposes. If you are a young person from a rural area in Latin America and the Caribbean, this is an opportunity to make your voice heard and contribute to shaping more inclusive and supportive agri-food systems.

For any questions regarding the survey, participants may contact Diana Ruiz Bartra or Victoria Diaz Ubillus at diana.ruiz.consultora@iica.int.

We encourage eligible young people across the LAC region to participate and share the survey within their networks.
