Young people are at the forefront of transforming agriculture and food systems in the face of climate change, biodiversity loss, and growing food insecurity. As a global network of young farmers, researchers, entrepreneurs, and advocates, YPARD is committed to ensuring that youth voices are meaningfully represented in climate and food systems governance. This policy position, developed by YPARD's Climate Working Group, outlines key recommendations and demands for the 64th Sessions of the UNFCCC Subsidiary Bodies (SB64). It calls for stronger youth leadership, increased climate finance for youth-led initiatives, greater investment in agroecology and soil health, support for Indigenous knowledge systems, and inclusive, youth-responsive climate policies.
The document reflects the perspectives and experiences of young people from diverse regions and highlights practical pathways towards resilient, equitable, and sustainable food systems that leave no one behind.
