Cavendish Farms

Cavendish Farms is a quality producer of frozen potato products for grocery and restaurant. We have four potato production facilities and an appetizer facility in Canada, as well as one potato plant in the U.S. All grocery potato products are made with only premium potatoes. Being located near North America's prime potato growing regions allows Cavendish Farms to use only the best quality of potatoes. The Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA) is an umbrella organization bringing together and forming coalitions of major stakeholders in agricultural research and development in Africa. FARA complements the innovative activities of national, international and sub-regional research institutions to deliver more responsive and effective services to its stakeholders. It plays advocacy and coordination roles for agricultural research for development, while the national agricultural research systems (NARS), advanced research institutions (ARIs) and international agricultural research centres (IARCs) develop and promote the adoption of improved technologies and policies along the research-to-development continuum in their respective countries and jurisdictions. Since it was established in 2002 FARA has been able to develop several African-wide initiatives through consultation with stakeholders. FARA is seeking to engage a Youth and Agribusiness long term Consultant to work closely with its core programmes in implementing its recast Medium Term Operation Plan (MTOP2R)

To develop and implement an agribusiness and youth strategy that will guide the inclusion and mainstreaming of youth and a business orientation in African agricultural research and development.

Grants are to individuals of any nationality engaged in biodiversity conservation, education, or research in the developing countries. An application should include a detailed description of the requested equipment, as well as contact information for the company that sells each item of the equipment. Idea Wild provides internet links to suppliers of the most frequently requested equipment items in order to help applicants choose and identify the items.

FAO  The FAO Office of Evaluation (OED) is seeking Expressions of Interest (EOIs) from qualified individuals to join the team for the Mid-term Evaluation of the “Capacity Development for Agricultural Innovation System” (CDAIS) Project.

The CDAIS project was conceived to realize the visions of Agrinatura, FAO and the “Tropical Agriculture Platform” (TAP – A G20 Initiative) on how to support Capacity Development (CD) in Agricultural Innovation Systems (AIS), and improve global coherence of CD approaches for AIS. The International Livestock Research Institute - Accelerated Value Chains Development Program (AVCD) on behalf of USAID Kenya would like to engage a consultant to conduct a rapid needs assessment and provide recommendations for engaging youth in the AVCD program.

The AVCD Program being implemented by three CGIAR centres i.e. ILRI, ICRISAT and CIP, seeks to harness the wealth of knowledge,  technologies and innovations within the research system ‘to sustainably reduce poverty and hunger in the Feed the Future Zones of Influence in Kenya’. The development objective is ‘Increased inclusive agricultural growth and improved nutrition status of participants in the targeted value chains in the Feed the Future zones of influence in Kenya’. The value chains included in this program were selected from Feed the Future Strategy for Kenya to cover a range of ecosystems, including those that have been affected by severe drought over the years and resource poor farming communities.  These value chains are livestock, dairy, and staple crops (root crops and, drought tolerant)

The interns will be assigned to different fields of work according to their profile and to the needs of the organization. Opportunity

Abt Associates seeks a Health Economist to work on the five-year, $199 million USAID-funded Health Finance and Governance (HFG) Project. The Health Economist will provide HFG project technical assistance to countries undergoing health financing reform, and provide technical expertise on health economic analytical work within countries and with USAID centrally. The successful candidate will develop relationships in USAID/Washington, USAID missions, with major development partners, and with ministries of health and finance and other key stakeholders in countries. The Health Economist will strengthen the evidence base around successful approaches to improving health financing, particularly within the areas of insurance and provider payment, as a way of expanding access to essential health services in country. The Health Economist will also contribute evidence to build a compelling case for continuing global and bilateral donor funded projects to improve health finance and governance, and strengthen health systems to reach national and international sustainable development goals. S/he will also provide technical contributions to business development.
