The OBC Conservation Fund makes grants for bird conservation in Asia. Grant-making priorities are projects that benefit globally threatened bird species; that conserve threatened bird habitats; and that are led by Asian residents. Small Conservation Awards are up to £1,500 for projects of 12-18 months, with applications before 31 March of each year. There is a special early deadline on 15 December for projects that have to begin before July. The OBC also considers special and emergency applications at any time. Link

CEPT University announces the Call for its Research & Teaching Fellowship for young graduates from outside India to teach at the University. The Fellowship is open to outstanding recent graduates of programs in any discipline so long as they are able to meaningfully contribute to the discourse on Human Habitat, which is the core of the University’s mission.

This fellowship furthers the University’s mission of excellence in education with exchange of skills, techniques and knowledge between the fellows and the University. The fellows have an opportunity to understand a dynamic social context in one of the rapidly developing cities in India. They would be able to use either one of the summer or winter breaks for self-pursuits. The fellowship is aimed to contribute to the diverse learning environment at CEPT. The candidate can express interest, while applying, in any one of the five Faculties of the University namely: Faculty of Architecture, Faculty of Design, Faculty of Planning, Faculty of Technology and Faculty of Management.

CIAT, on behalf of IITA, is seeking for a Communication Officer to develop and implement communication activities under the African Cassava Agronomy Initiative (ACAI) project. FAO’s Climate, Energy, and Tenure Division is looking for an intern for 6 months for the the UNDP/FAO Global Programme “Integrating Agriculture in NAPs”.

The Integrating Agriculture in NAPs programme supports partner countries to identify and integrate climate adaptation measures for the agricultural sector into relevant national planning and budgeting processes. It is a multi-year initiative funded by the German Government that responds to country driven needs. This integration will help to enhance: institutional capacities and processes for operationalizing climate response strategies in the sector; access to international climate finance sources.

FAO’s Regional Office for Europe and Central Asia has an internship opening for an intern based in Tirana, Albania for 5 months starting from September 2016 onwards. The intern will be contributing to FAO’s work on disaster risk reduction in the region, but in particularly in Albania.

The theme under which the research projects are pursued is sustainable futures for the people of the Afromontane. Continued funding beyond the first year is dependent on the submission of an annual progress report.
